Tablets & E-Readers
The library has several Kindle DXs, Nexus 7, and iPads. Patrons may neither add content to the tablets nor may they connect or sync them to another computer. Doing so may result in a damages fine and/or suspension of equipment privileges. An overdue fine of $5 per day is assessed for late returns.
Kindles come pre-loaded with content and may be borrowed for 14 days. For a current list of kindle content search "kindle" in Books, Media, & More (UW-Whitewater), then click on "Other" under Resource Type in the left column. Click on "Details" to see a list of books. The replacement charge for a lost or damaged Kindle is $1,100.
iPads have a variety of apps including the MS Office apps. For a current list of apps search "iPad" in Books, Media, & More (UW-Whitewater), then click on "Other" under Resource Type in the left column. You can choose the iPad or the iPad Air. You can also see all the iPad accessories using this search. Click on "Details" to see a list of apps. These items may be checked out for three days. In addition to the iPads, we also have various accessories, including keyboards. The replacement charge for a lost or damaged iPad is $1,000.

The Nexus 7 is an Android OS based tablet created by Google and can be checked out for three days. The Nexus 7 will sync to a users Google account and populate accordingly. If users wish to use the Nexus 7 without a Google account, they can. All Nexus 7s are restored to factory default upon return. The replacement charge for a lost or damaged Nexus 7 is $460.
