Support the Library
"Nobody ever graduated from a library, but nobody ever graduated without one." — some smart guy
Our sentiments exactly! At the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Andersen Library, our mission is to support research and learning in all academic disciplines. Our physical library is open over 100 hours a week and provides a great place for private and group study. Our "virtual" library is open 24/7 and provides on-demand access to many of our key resources and services. Our goal is to provide access to the best resources and the most knowledgeable staff that we can. We take pride in creating innovative and timely services to better educate and inform our community.
Sound easy? Well, it takes considerable effort and considerable resources to meet these lofty goals. Just as there are never enough hours in the day, we can never provide all of the resources we feel the UWW community deserves. There's always one more resource or one more service we'd like to provide, but simply can't afford. But with your support, the Library can continue supporting academic excellence on the UWW campus. Here are some ways to support Andersen Library:
Become a Friend
Friends of Andersen Library advocate for and assist the Library in meeting its academic and educational goals. Donations in any amount at any time to the Library's foundation account are welcome! Examples of how donations may be used are:
- Add up-to-date titles in the Curriculum Collection non-fiction for grades 5-12, especially in the natural and applied sciences (As of 2015, the median age of titles in these areas is 1984!),
- Develop and keep up-to-date the small collection of English-language graphic novels and manga, tied to several courses in the curriculum,
- Provide access to an ever-changing array of emerging technology for university students in all programs, to enhance their digital literacy and 21st century technological skills.

Make a Donation
Andersen Library will always gladly accept donations of new or gently used books, magazines, software or other learning resources. All donations are reviewed by subject Librarians for inclusion in our collection. If an item is not added to our collection it is sold in our annual book sale. Either way, your donation will directly benefit the Library. For more information on making a donation in kind please contact Technical Services, at 262-472-5575 or email@example.com.
In Memoria Purchases
Want to memorialize a special event or special person? Consider making a donation for the purchase of a title in a the subject area of your choice. The Library will place a bookplate in the item memorializing the person and/or occasion. For more information contact Paul Waelchli, Library Director, at 262-472-5516 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Be an Advocate
Another great way to support the Library is simply to use the Library. We exist solely for the betterment of the UWW and area community. We know there are many library "fans" on and off campus. We also know that word of mouth is the best advertisement. Tell a friend. Tell a classmate how important the Library is to you. A busy library is a successful library.
Got a community service requirement? The Library is a great place to volunteer. For more information contact the Circulation Desk at 262-472-5511 or email@example.com.
