Use the following databases to locate an article or information on a particular topic. The Journal Holdings List list describes the library's holdings for Magazines and Journals. Use the Journal Holdings list to determine whether the library owns a particular journal.

• MedLine
  Produced by the National Library of Medicine, Medline covers all aspects of biomedicine including nursing, dentistry and veterinary medicine. It contains citations and abstracts, beginning in 1966, from over 3,800 journals published in the United States and 70 other countries.
• PubMed
  Pub Med is the publicly accessible and searchable access to Medline.
• CCH Health and Human Resources
  Includes OSHA compliance. Covers human resource management, personnel practices, compensation, Equal Employment Opportunity, employment relations and OSHA compliance.
• American Chem Society Journals
  Partial/Full Text and images of the 35 journals published by the American Chemical Society.
• General Science Full Text
  Indexing and abstracts for over 140 English language periodicals in the physical, life, and health sciences plus the Partial/Full Text of over 35 of those periodicals. Includes feature articles, biographical sketches, symposia, conferences, review articles, selected letters to the editor, and supplements to journals. Indexing begins in 1984 and abstracting in March 1993. Partial/Full Text coverage begins in January 1995.
• Applied Science and Technology
  Covers 411 core English-language scientific and technical publications. Topics include engineering, acoustics, chemistry, computers, metallurgy, physics, plastics, telecommunications, transportation, and waste management. Includes abstracts from March 1993 and indexing from October 1983.
• NFPA Codes Online (Restricted to 1 user at a time)
  The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), based in Quincy, Massachusetts, is an international, nonprofit membership organization. Its mission is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life. The NFPA develops, publishes, and disseminates timely consensus codes and standards intended to minimize the possibility and effects of fire and other risks.
• ScienceDirect College Edition
  Extensive Full Text access to the Elsevier journal collections: Health Sciences (600 peer reviewed journals), Life Sciences (530 peer reviewed journals) and Physical Sciences & Engineering (600 peer reviewed journals).

  • Knovel Scientific and Engineering Online References
    The Knovel database contains some of the leading engineering reference handbooks, databases, and conference proceedings. A few of the subject areas covered are: chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, concrete, asphalt, mechanical engineering, semiconductors, electronics, and surface engineering. Some of the standard reference texts included are Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook, Lange's Handbook of Chemistry, Marks' Standard Handbook for Mechanical Engineers, Machinery's Handbook, and the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics. The content of more than 200 books is interactive and cross-searchable. Many titles have hyperlinked indexes.

    "OSH-DB is a web-based bibliographic database service which is available by subscription. OSH-DB consists of over 220,000 bibliographic database records from NIOSHTIC® (which was discontinued in mid-1998) and regular updates, prepared by Information Ventures, which complement the coverage of NIOSHTIC®." The University Library does not have a subscription to this database.
  • ToxNet - National Library of Medicine Toxicology Network.
    This website provides free access to the following toxicology related databases:
