Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (U.S. Government Printing Office)
Bibliographic records for U.S. government agency publications in all formats, with links to Internet publications. Currently most documents since 1976 are included plus some older titles. The government plans to keep adding cataloging records for older materials.

AGRICOLA is a database of bibliographic records in two parts: one part provides citations to books, audio-visual materials, etc. (1970 to date), the other part provides journal article citations (1984 to date).

ERIC is a federally-funded database of citations and abstracts to documents and journal articles on educational research and practice.

TRIS Online (Transportation Research Board)

The Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS) online bibliographic database provides more than 400,000 searchable records (citations with abstracts) covering transportation research published in books, journal articles, technical reports and other media since the 1960's, with links to some full-text public-domain documents. It is a component of the National Transportation Library.

This site gathers access to statistics "of interest to the public" from more than 70 federal (U.S.) government agencies. It is possible to perform keyword searches for some of the agencies' statistics.

National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)

The Tables & Figures Search option allows searching for data from several NCES statistical publications at once, including: Digest of Education Statistics, Condition of Education, Youth Indicators, and Projections of Education Statistics.
The Survey and Program Areas option provides downloadable data from a variety of NCES surveys, including: Common Core of Data, Schools and Staffing Survey, National Household Education Survey, Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, Recent College Graduates, High School and Beyond, National Assessments of Adult Literacy, library surveys and more. Also search the data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress here, using the NAEP Data Explorer, which provides national and state results in 8 subject areas, including mathematics, reading, writing, and science for the nation and participating states and other jurisdictions since 1990, and for selected urban districts (on a trial basis) since 2002.

FASTATS A to Z (National Center for Health Statistics)

Among the material made available are two full-text publications: National Vital Statistics Reports (previously titled Monthly Vital Statistics Reports), which contains statistics on births, marriages, divorces, and deaths in states and the U.S., and Advance Data from Vital and Health Statistics, which provides early releases of data from NCHS's demographic and health surveys (the focus varies with each issue, such as characteristics of nursing home residents or smoking behaviors of recent mothers).
