Tablets & E-Readers

The library has several Kindle DXs and iPads. Patron may not addition content to iPads or Kindles nor may they connect or sync them to another computer. Doing so may result in a damages fine and/or suspension of equipment privileges. An overdue fine of $5 per day for multi-day check outs or $5 per hour for 4-hour check outs is asssed for late returns.

Kindles

Kindles come pre-loaded with content and may be borrowed for 14 days. The "newspaper" Kindle, loaded with the Washington Post and the Chicago Tribune, may be used for 4 hours in the Library. For a current list of kindle content search "kindle" as a call number. The replacement charge for a lost or damaged Kindle is $1,100.

iPads

iPads have a variety of apps including Pages, Keynote and Numbers. For a current list of apps search "iPad" as an exact title, then click on the Staff View. These items may be checked out for 3 days or 4 hours. In addition to the iPad, we also have various accessories, including keyboards. For a list of all iPad accessories, search "iPad" as a Title keyword. The replacement charge for a lost of damaged iPad is $1,000.
