Computers in the Library

Desktop computers are available on all three floors in a variety of study areas. A few Mac computers are also available on the main floor, near the Curriculm Collection. Programs available on these computers are the same as those available in other computer labs on campus.

Both Windows and Mac laptops are available for either 4-hour or overnight check-out. Windows computers are loaded with several browsers, including Lockdown, various media players and Microsoft Office. Macs are loaded with several browsers, including Lockdown, iLife, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Laptops are available only to patrons with a UWW ID. Patrons must have an loan agreement on file and may not have excessive fines on their library acount. A laptop is not considered returned unless all parts have been returned, including case, mouse and/o power cord. Availability of laptops is limited so these items connot be renewed and are available on first-come, first-serve basis. After borrowing an overnight laptop all patrons must wait at least 24 hours before borrowing another overnight laptop.

Several scanners are located throughout the library. Instructions on using the scanners can be found by each unit. If you have any question about using a scanner, please ask at the Reference or Circulation desk.

There are printers on every floor in the Library. Three on the main floor, in the Learning Commons, and one each on the lower and upper floors. Printing from these printers is free to UWW students and faculty. Community patrons are charged $.10 per page (ask at the Cirulation desk for more information).

Color printing is also available on the main floor. There is a $1 charge for 8.5" x 11" prints and $2 for 11" x 17" prints. Ask at the Circulation desk for more information.
