Business Databases

ABI/Inform Global (ProQuest : 1971- )
Covers a wide range of popular and scholarly publications in accounting, finance, marketing, management, international business, real estate, and taxation. It provides abstracting and indexing from 1971 forward for over 1,300 titles, including 200 English-language foreign publications. Also included is full text for over 600 journals from 1992 forward.

Business Full Text (WilsonWeb : 1982- )
Included in the OmniFile Full Text: Mega Edition database. Indexes and abstracts articles from more than 345 English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere, including the leading business magazines and trade and research journals, plus the full text of over 160 of those periodicals. Full text coverage begins in January 1995.

Business & Industry (FirstSearch : 1994- )
Contains important facts, figures and key events dealing with public and private companies, industries, products and markets for all manufacturing and service industries at an international level. B & I focuses on a body of literature that includes leading trade magazines, newsletters, the general business press and international business dailies. Business Dateline (FirstSearch : 1985- )
Regional business activities and trends are covered in this file with particular emphasis on economic conditions in selected cities, states, or regions, as well as mergers, acquisitions, company executives, new products, and competitive intelligence. Contains fully searchable Full Text articles from more than 450 North American business tabloids, magazines, daily newspapers, and news wire services.

Business Source Premier (EBSCOhost)
Provides comprehensive access to abstracts and indexing for over 3,300 titles,plus searchable partial/full text for more than 2150 business periodicals. Contains company and industry profiles, market research reports and country studies as well. This database is updated daily. Business Source Premier can also be searched using Enhanced Interface Searching.

EconLit (FirstSearch: 1969- )
Subject indexing and abstracts of journals and over 500 collective volumes per year, plus books, dissertations, and working papers. Produced by the Journal of Economic Literature.

Emerald Library (MCB University Press)
The Electronic Management Research Library Database provides access to over 130 journals by MCB University Press. Journals such as the European Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Personnel Review, The TQM Magazine and Library Management, are included. Articles from 1994 on are readily available online.

JSTOR Arts & Sciences I, II & III Collection
JSTOR is an electronic journal archival project which provides full-text access to complete runs of back issues of over 550 scholarly journal titles in the following disciplines: Anthropology, Asian Studies, Business, Ecology, Economics, Education, Finance, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Population Studies, and Sociology.

Regional Business News (EBSCOhost)
This database provides comprehensive full text coverage for regional business publications. Regional Business News incorporates coverage of 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States. This database is updated on a daily basis.

Sage Premier Journals Online
SAGE Premier provides electronic access to 408 peer-reviewed, full-text journals in Business, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science, Technology and Medicine. (94,000+ articles).

ScienceDirect College Edition
Extensive Full Text access to the Elsevier journal collections relevant to business: Social Sciences & Humanities (350 peer reviewed journals).

American Manufacturers Disc
CD-ROM
Directory of over 600,000 U.S. manufacturers with a variety of ways to search including zip code and business size. Available on workstation S8 across from the Reference Desk.

Cabell's Directory of Publishing Opportunities
Online version of Cabell’s Print Directory of Publishing Opportunities (includes Accounting, Economics & Finance, Management and Marketing directories) which provides updated current information on the addresses, phone, e-mail and websites for a large number of journals. The company aims to provide information on publication guidelines and review information.

CCH IntelliConnect
CCH Intelliconnect provides access to: CCH Health and Human Resources, which covers human resource management, personnel practices, compensation, Equal Employment Opportunity, employment relations and OSHA compliance; CCH Internet Tax Research NetWork, which contains tax research on federal, state or international tax law. You must sign up for a free account to gain access to the resource.

CD-ROM
Database is available on workstation S4 in the Reference Alcove. A fully searchable compilation of business and financial information for over 12,000 companies trading on major U.S. stock exchanges. Each CD-ROM covers the previous ten years. Disclosure reports also available online via LexisNexis, which provide three years of data.

Corporate Affiliations Plus
Contains listings on approximately 50,000 private companies, 21,000 private companies, and 52,000 international companies. All domestic and foreign subsidiaries are included.

Global Market Information Database (includes Market Research Monitor)
Global Market Information Database provides access to over three million demographic, economic and marketing statistics for over two hundred countries back from 1977, as well as country profiles and consumer market sizes for many products across over fifty countries. This database also includes Market Research Monitor, which offers over 2,200 top-line market research reports on international consumer, industrial and service markets. Reports offer up to date market size data, company shares, brand shares and forecasts.

Hoover's Company Records (ProQuest)
Hoover's Company Records provides information about companies, industries, and the people who lead them. Content in Hoover's Company Records covers more than 40,000 companies, 225,000 key executives, and more than 600 industries, delivering up-to-date business information.

Mediamark Reporter (MRI)

This resource provides access to data about consumers and their purchasing decisions. Find demographic information about people and the products that they buy, as well as their media (magazine, television, radio and internet) habits. Morningstar contains reports on more than 8,000 stocks and 12,000 mutual funds, Analyst Reports on 1,000 stocks and 2,000 mutual funds and Morningstar ratings for stocks and funds. Morningstar contains both stock and fund screeners and a portfolio X-ray tool that helps you look for strengths and weaknesses in a portfolio.

TableBase is a database comprised of tabular information of a strategic nature. The tables provide information suchas: market share, market size, capacity, production, imports, exports, sales, product and brand rankings, forecasts, healthcare statistics and demographics. Tables are drawn from the more than 1000 sources that go into the Business & Industry database and from statistical annuals, brokerage reports, trade association reports, and governmental reports.

Value Line Investment Survey
An independent investment information resource, Value Line Investment Survey provides overall views on the economy and stock market as well as descriptive information and performance projections for 1,700 stocks.
