Setting Limits
To set limits other than date, click on a desired characteristic from each menu to select it. To select multiple items (in an either-or relationship) from the same menu hold down the [Ctrl] key (command key on a Mac) while clicking. To limit by date, enter a year into the Date box. Click in the radio dial preceding the relationship desired. If selecting a date range, also enter a year in the Range box.
| A single year: | Click in the dial to the left of the equal sign (=). In this example, only items published in 1994 will be retrieved. | |
| After a certain year: | Click in the dial to the left of the greater than sign (>). In this example, only items published after, but not during, 1994 are retrieved. | |
| Before a certain year: | Click in the dial to the left of the less than sign (<). In this example, only items published before, but not during, 1994, are retrieved. | |
| A range of years: | Click in the dial to the left of the word "Range" and type in a year to complete the range. In this example, only items published between 1994 and 1998 are retrieved, including items published in 1994 or 1998. |
Click on to enter the selected limits and return to the search screen.
