Advanced Search
Why Use the Advanced Search?
The Advanced Search has a multiple box display. Many people find it is easier to construct a "complex" search in this mode because they can select the Boolean operators from radio dials and Boolean logic statements from dropdown menus instead of typing them in. It is best used when:
- Searching for words in various specific fields, such as books by Anne Rice (Author field) with the word vampire in the title (Title field)
- Searching for titles where only a few words of the title are known, in any order
How to Get to the Advanced Search
To open the Advanced Search from another search mode, click on the Advanced Search tab at the top of the search display. If not in a search mode, click on the New Search button, then on the Advanced Search tab.
