The Children's Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD) includes records for over 900,000 children's books, video and audio recordings, film strips, and other children-focused media. Dedicated to helping educators make appropriate literary choices for children from infancy to young adulthood, the CLCD is one of the most complete resoures available for information on children's literature. The CLCD is especially useful for planning curriculum, building thematic units and creating specialized bibiliographies.

The CLCD may be searched by author, award, reading list or best book list, age level and grade level, reading level (lexile range), language (choose from one of approximately 180 languages) and other more specialized fields. More recent titles may include a full text review from one of approximately 30 sources such as The ALAN Review, CCBC Choices and Horn Book.
