Rootsweb
     One of the oldest and most comprehensive genealogical sites. It is the home of the Roots Surname List of over 550,000 names. Many surname mailing lists and genealogical websites are hosted out of this cooperative.

USGenWeb Project
     This project is attempting to create and/or link websites for genealogical research on every county in the United States. Many of the individual county sites includes census files, local histories, and cemetery indexes.

National Archives and Records Administration : Genealogy Page
     NARA's genealogy home page which includes basic publications, the list of census microfilm reel numbers for all states, and ordering information for NARA forms.

National Genealogical Society
     Home page of the Society, includes an important guide to use of the Internet in genealogy.

National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution
     Home page of the Society, includes information on membership and resources in the Library.

New England Historic Genealogical Society
     Home page of the Society, includes the catalog of the Library's collection. Good starting point for New England research.

New York Genealogical and Biographical Society
     Home page of the Society. Good resources for New York and New England ancestors.

Allen County Public Library - Historical Genealogical Department
     Possibly the finest genealogy collection in the Midwest. ACPL is the compiler of PERSI and holds all of the indexed titles. The site lists major resource collections and hours of operation.

1895 United States Atlas
     An excellent example of an actual resource volume on the Web. This atlas is especially useful for identifying very small towns, many of which no longer appear on maps. Maps are to the county level and all towns are indexed.
