How to Look Up Titles

  1. In the Basic Search mode, select Title - omit initial the, an, la, a from the Search By menu by clicking on it.
  2. Type a title in the Search For box. If it starts with an article in any language, such A, An, The, La, El, & Den, remove the article, off but leave those within the title alone. If you don't know the full title, enter as much of the first part of it as you know. If there is a colon, stop before it. Letters from non-English languages may be replaced with the nearest English equivalent and diacritical marks are not needed. For example: replace è, é, ê and ë with e, and æ with a
  3. Click on .
Search by Title example

For example, to find the book "The old man and the sea", type in:

old man and the sea

Note: The Title Keyword search in the Advanced Search works differently than this Search by Title. It is a Search by Keyword limited finding terms only in the Title field. It immediately retrieves a Title List of records which have the search terms in any order in the Title.
